FAQ

1. How long does shipping take?
Processing: 1-3 business days. Shipping: 5-10 business days (contiguous US). Larger items may ship via freight with extended delivery times (7-20 business days). Balancing scooters contain lithium batteries and must ship via ground only per DOT regulations (49 CFR 173.185). You'll receive tracking via email.

2. What are shipping costs?
Calculated at checkout based on weight/destination. Balancing scooters may have separate freight charges. Free standard shipping on qualifying orders. Lithium battery products: ground shipping only (no air).

3. Do you ship outside the contiguous US?
Currently, only to the contiguous 48 states. Lithium battery products may have additional destination restrictions due to transport regulations.

4. Do items require assembly?

  • Tricycles: Yes, require assembly (attaching handlebars, pedals, seat). Instructions included.

  • Balancing scooters: Minimal assembly (attaching handlebar if applicable). Charging required before first use.

  • Protective gear: No assembly.

5. What types of tricycles do you offer?
We offer child tricycles for ages 2-5 (toddler trikes) and for ages 5-12. Tricycles sold as general‑use products are subject to applicable CPSC safety requirements under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA), but are not subject to the bicycle standard 16 CFR Part 1512. However, all products must comply with general safety requirements: no sharp edges, small part choking hazards (for children under 3), and structural integrity.

Important: Stationary-ridden "baby walkers" are banned from sale in the U.S. and not offered by our store.

6. What safety standards do your balancing scooters meet?
Our balancing scooters (self‑balancing scooters/hoverboards) comply with:

  • ASTM F2641 (Consumer Safety Specification for Recreational Powered Scooters and Pocket Bikes) covering stability, mechanical integrity, and electrical safety requirements.

  • ANSI/CAN/UL 2272 (Electrical System Safety Standard for Personal E‑Mobility Devices) covering electrical drive train, battery system, and charger combination safety through electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing, including short circuit, over‑discharge, temperature cycling, drop testing, vibration, and IPX4 water resistance.

  • UL 2271 (battery packs) or comprehensive UL 2272 evaluation.

  • Lithium batteries meet UN38.3 testing requirements per 49 CFR 173.185 for transport.

  • FCC Part 15 (if wireless/Bluetooth models).

7. Why must balancing scooters comply with UL 2272?
CPSC announced that all hoverboards sold in the U.S. must meet UL 2272 safety certification to address fire hazards associated with lithium‑ion battery packs. Non‑compliant products may be refused import or subject to recall.

8. What safety standards do protective gear (helmets, pads) meet?
All our protective gear complies with:

  • 16 CFR Part 1203 (CPSC mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets) — helmets must pass impact attenuation, positional stability, retention system, and peripheral vision tests.

  • Labels: “Complies with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 5 and Older.”

  • Knee and elbow pads comply with ASTM F1897, wrist guards with ASTM F2670.

  • Children's gear (ages 12 & under) is CPC‑certified with CPSIA lead (<100 ppm) and phthalates (<0.1%), 16 CFR Part 1130 tracking labels.

9. Does a non‑powered tricycle intended for children fall under ASTM F963 toy safety standard?
No. ASTM F963 covers toys but specifically excludes: "Bicycles, Tricycles, Non‑Powered Scooters, Recreational Powered Scooters and Pocket Bikes." However, tricycles still subject to general CPSC safety (FHSA 16 CFR 1500) and CPSIA requirements for children's products: lead (<100 ppm substrate, ≤90 ppm surface coating), phthalates (<0.1%), and 16 CFR Part 1130 tracking labels.

10. Is a powered/electric tricycle (e‑trike) subject to the bicycle standard?
Yes, under the CPSC definition of a bicycle in 16 CFR Part 1512, a tricycle with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than 750 watts (1 h.p.) whose maximum speed on a paved level surface is less than 20 mph meets the definition of a “bicycle.” As such, electric tricycles must comply with all requirements of 16 CFR Part 1512, including braking, reflectors, structural integrity, and assembly (identical to e‑bikes). For children's e‑trike versions (intended for 12 & under), additionally require CPC certification with tracking labels.

11. How do I care for my tricycle?

  • Check handlebars, pedals, and wheels before each use.

  • Wipe with damp cloth; do not use water on moving parts.

  • Store indoors.

12. How do I care for my balancing scooter?

  • Charge only with the supplied charger; do not leave charging unattended.

  • Never use a scooter with a damaged battery pack.

  • Keep away from water unless IPX‑rated.

  • Store in a cool, dry place; avoid extreme temperatures.

  • For lithium battery transport: Follow 49 CFR 173.185 packaging requirements. Damaged or defective batteries must be shipped via ground only.

13. How do I care for my protective gear?

  • Helmet: Replace after any significant impact (even without visible damage); clean with mild soap and water; replace every 3-5 years.

  • Pads: Hand wash with mild soap; air dry. Do not machine wash or dry.

  • Inspect straps and padding before each use.

14. What is California Proposition 65?
Some products may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm (e.g., lead in paints, phthalates in plastics). Warning includes the yellow triangle symbol (⚠) and the word “WARNING” in bold capital letters. Applicable warnings are displayed on product pages and packaging.

15. What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay, and financing options (Affirm/Klarna).
